Toddlers are at an age where they are immensely curious and they have discovered that climbing is fun. The higher, the better! This also means parents have to watch them like a hawk.
Recently, a CCTV footage emerged showing a boy narrowly escaping death. The boy played with the drawers without realizing it was almost toppling. He managed to dodge in time and it was just barely!
Later, a woman can be seen rushing downstairs to check on him and it looked like the boy was unharmed.
This just goes to show how the sturdy furniture may not be once a child pulls the drawers back and forth or use the drawers as a step ladder.
This isn’t the first report of unstable furniture endangering the child. In 2016, a child was crushed to death by Ikea’s Malm cupboard. Ikea then issued a warning and advised families to secure and fasten their furniture at home. A few months later, another child was crushed by furniture.
