The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may have a full staff and nanny at their disposal but they are just like any other parents. They are tired too!
Two days after welcoming their third child (Prince Louis of Cambridge), Prince William was caught nodding off in public.
He was with his brother Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Anzac Day Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey when he momentarily dozed off. In the video, Prince William can be seen shutting his eyes at the 3:12 mark and he kept blinking just to try to keep himself awake.
At the time, other than parenting three kids with Kate, he was busy preparing for his brother’s royal wedding and organizing a bachelor party or stag party as it’s known in the UK.
Prince William and Kate Middleton can be seen as hands-on parents. They even place importance on mental health and want their kids to be able to talk about their feelings and emotions. When they are not carrying out royal duties and responsibilities, they can be seen doing school runs just like any other parents too.
Although the family is in the limelight almost all the time, they have asked the media to stop hounding their kids. Prince William and Kate want their children to be free to play with other kids too.
A media statement from Kensington Palace reads: “They want both children to be free to play in public and semi-public spaces with other children without being photographed.”
The royal couple’s parenting approach could have been inspired by the way Princess Diana brought up her two sons. Princess Diana insisted both Prince William and Harry be schooled in normal schools instead of posh schools.
She also walked them to and from school every day. Princess Diana, who was once a preschool teacher, wanted her kids to be grounded and humble despite their privilege.
Isn’t it a relief to know that every parent, royal or not, goes through more or less the same situations? Just as shown in the feature image, even he has to think on the spot how to distract his son!
